One of my favorite activities while in government was speaking with groups and individuals about their career trajectories, often basing my advice on my own experiences. Since retiring from the Federal government, I have created this blog, based on my career, with the intention of providing insight and perspective to those in their early to mid-careers working in large organizations. I have found that reflecting on my career – both the ups and especially the downs – brought a lot of relief to the many folks I have interacted with at all levels of their careers. There is a lot of advice about how to advance, but not a lot of advice about how to calm down and understand that a career is a long game, with wins and losses along the way. Nothing in this blog is rocket science. Rather, it is about providing nuggets collected along a long career (and life) to others. Consider it a pep talk.

Instructive History
My husband and I recently took a month-long road trip across our country, visiting family and friends along the way.
